Good morning! I will be getting a rescue Cavalier (well, she is retiring from breeding) in the beginning of August and I want to make sure I have all my supplies ready. Can anyone give advice or recommendations for grooming tools? I've read that a slicker brush is great to have but wanted to hear if anyone had any personal recommendations or suggestions on that or anything else I will need. Thanks!

I would suggest you ask the breeder from whom you are getting the dog, and also just walk into a grooming facility and ask a groomer. Most of them in my experience don't mind sharing their knowledge as long as you don't interrupt them when they are busy.
Since I personally have never groomed a Cavalier, I don't know the specifics, but usually a straight shear, curved shear, and skip-tooth shear are useful. I don't know if clippers are ever used on a cavalier or not. And, of course, either nail clippers or a rotary tool. I love a good wide curved slicker brush. It's good for most dog coats.
